ArtSparks Foundation - Belaku
ArtSparks Foundation is an educational nonprofit that works to support the development of 21st century learning and life skills in children through the medium of visual art & design. ArtSparks also supports the professional development of teachers and educators, encouraging them to reflect on their teaching practice, and explore new ways to enrich their students learning.
This is a part of their program where they take over a class room in the government schools of Karnataka and convert them in to Art Labs for further creative learning processes.
The word painted on the wall is "Belaku", which is a word from the Kannada language which means "the dawn". This word was chosen as an inspiration for the children who would visit this classroom to learn.
My role in this project was to design an impromptu form which organically helps in jamming the ideas of volunteers who came to experience the act of painting artworks on a wall and to guide them during the process.
